Timea Benkő has obtained the "Rezső Zsizsmann Award" of the Hungarian Song Alliance of Romania

On the 2015 year annual meeting of the Song Alliance the professional activity of Timea Benkő was praised by his former teacher and leader of choir of the Theological Institute, László Attila Kovács.


The event took place on 14. November 2015 in the Aula of the Reformed College of Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca).

Timea Benkő was brought up in a family of musicians. She graduated from the High School for Cantors and Teachers in Marosvásárhely (Târgu-Mureș). Timea has studied Lutheran theology at the Protestant Theological Institute between 1994-1999. Her interest in church music and liturgy was deepened by a study year in Leipzig under the guidance of David Timm, director of music at the University of Leipzig, and dr. Martin Petzold. She also took active part in various choires both at home and in Germany.

Timea is currently lecturing in church music and liturgy at the Protestant Theological Institute of Cluj-Napoca and leading the mixed choir of the Institute.
