A new general director has been appointed

Levente-Zoltán Rácz has recently begun his activity as the new general director of the Institute. He has been working as advisor for management on financing, investments and development in higher education.


Levente-Zoltán Rácz was born in Aiud (Nagyenyed, Strassburg am Mieresch) on August 2, 1966. In 1985 he graduated the Mathematics-Physics Department of the Bethlen College in Aiud. In 1991 he graduated the Polytechnic Institute of Cluj with degree in mechanical engineering. He worked as a design engineer for two years at Metalurgica Corporation, in Aiud. In 1996 he was admitted to the University of Alba Iulia (Gyulafehérvár, Karlsburg), and in 2000 he became licensed in law at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu (Nagyszeben, Hermannstadt). During 1996-2000 he held various positions within the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania – Alba County, such as executive president, legal adviser and president of the county branch. They built and organized the Hungarian Cultural Center Dr. Szász Pál in Aiud, that he led. He was the first founder president of the Dr. Szász Pál Association, between 2007-2012. During 1997-2012 he also worked as a local councilor in Aiud. Since 2002 he has been the representative of the Government Office for Hungarian Minorities Abroad and its successor institutions with the task of providing advice for management on financing, investments and development of the Sapientia Foundation, the Sapientia University in Cluj (Kolozsvár, Klausenburg), operating in three different locations, and the Partium Christian University in Oradea (Nagyvárad, Grosswardein). Since 2004 he has been a member of the Board of Legal Advisors. On March 14, 2014 he was appointed by competition as the general administrative director of the Protestant Theological Institute of Cluj-Napoca.
