PTI Students Awarded at the 37th National Scientific Student Conference of Hungary Organized in Szeged

The Humanities Section of the 37th National Scientific Student Conference of Hungary was held between April 15-17, 2025, where three PTI students participated, earning a prize that enhanced the institution's reputation.


The Humanities Section of the 37th National Scientific Student Conference of Hungary was held between April 15-17, 2025, where three PTI students participated, earning a prize that enhanced the institution's reputation.

The Humanities Section presentations of the Student Conference of Hungary were organized this year by the University of Szeged. A total of 45 specialized groups participated in the Humanities Section. The students of the PTI presented their research findings in the Post-1945 Hungarian History II and Early Modern Hungarian History sections. The participants were students from higher education institutions in the Carpathian Basin, mostly from Hungarian universities.

The students from the Protestant Theological Institute who participated were those who had placed in the last two years' Transylvanian Scientific Student Conference events, as follows:

  • Ágnes Demeter: The Donors of Textiles of the Unitarian Congregation of Kolozsvár-Belváros in the 16th–18th Centuries. Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Sándor Kovács, university professor
  • Orsolya László: A Historical Overview of the Klenodiums of the Unitarian Congregation of Kolozsvár-Belváros in the 16th–18th Centuries. Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Sándor Kovács.
  • László Széles: Unitarian Clergy Careers in the 1950s and '60s. Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Sándor Kovács.

Among the PTI students, László Széles won 3rd place in the Post-1945 Hungarian History II section. We are pleased that our students took part in the competition, congratulations to the awardee, and we cheer for those participating in the upcoming (April 24-27, Miskolc) social sciences section.
