Órigenésznek (185–254), a korai alexandriai iskola kiemelkedő képviselőjének 230 táján született Peri archón / De principiis című művét a keresztény teológiatörténet első jelentős dogmatikai munkájaként tartjuk számon. A könyv magyar fordításának második – javított és bővített – kiadását pár hónappal ezelőtt vehettük kézbe (A princípiumokról. Kairosz Kiadó, Budapest, 2025. Ford. Somos Róbert, Kránitz Mihály és Simonné Pesthy Monika). Előadásunk e mű alapján vizsgálja a rossz problémája ill. a teodicea-kérdés értelmezését Órigenész szemléletében.
