The Wizz Air Marathon was held for the 14th time in Cluj-Napoca on April 6, 2025, with fifteen participants representing the Protestant Theological Institute, each taking on different distances.

As early as September 2024, an ambitious team came together and decided to race against their own limits within the framework of the marathon. The real opponent at this event was none other than the comfort zone, endurance, and willpower. With the support of the institute, the group registered for the following categories:

  • Relay (4×10.5 km): two teams, a total of 8 people
  • Half marathon (21.1 km): 6 people
  • Cross (10 km): 1 person

This was followed by the preparation period. Some participants were already runners, while others were just starting their "running careers." Taking part in the marathon was not only a sporting achievement, but also a tool for encouraging regular physical activity — a kind of community challenge that drew participants out of the walls of the university.

On race weekend, the runners were greeted by a particularly memorable weather: all the signs of winter in April — 1–2 °C temperatures, strong winds, and snowfall. Walking toward the park in a picturesque Christmas-like snowfall, many of us wondered: Why did we sign up for this again?

Nevertheless, we didn’t back down — every registered runner showed up at the starting line. The routes, starting from Cluj Arena, wove through the city center and along the Someș River. A total of 7,903 runners took on the various distances. Refreshment stations, roadside supporters, and live music added a special atmosphere to the event.

By the end of the day, after covering a total of 220.6 kilometers, all participants from the theology institute successfully completed their chosen distances — proving to themselves and others that with enough determination, we are capable of going beyond our limits, growing, and becoming stronger.
