This chapter studies the piety and suffering of King Hezekiah of Judah in the context of the textual history of Isaiah 36 and its parallel text in 2 Kings 18. King Hezekiah is generally presented as a positive protagonist, and in Isaiah his personality is paradigmatic. Hezekiah’s faith in Yhwh’s deliverance from Assyria, or indeed from any life-threatening circumstances, points beyond his personal character on the stage of Judah’s history. On the other hand, the eighth-century prophecies, including those traditionally dated to Hezekiah’s era, are often critical of anti-Assyrian activities.

Care este contextul povestirii nașterii consemnate în Evanghelia după Luca? De ce este important pentru Luca să menționeze domnia împăratului Augustus și să descrie vestea bună adusă de îngeri? Există vreo legătură formală între „evanghelie” și „vestea bună” folosită în cultul împăratului? În ce măsură traducerile urmează sau sunt capabile să urmeze forma și conținutul cântării corului îngeresc consemnate în Lc 2,14?
A kötetben közzétett 10 exegetikai tanulmány mindegyike az Igazság és Élet című lelkipásztori szakfolyóiratban jelent meg 2008–2024 között. Tartalmukat tekintve a szövegek az említett folyóirat szerkezeti alapegységeit követik: exegetikai megértés, teológiai összefüggések feltárása, prédikációvázlat, példák és szemelvények, szempontok az istentisztelet alakításához, illetve bibliográfiai hivatkozások. A szövegek a folyóiratban eredetileg megjelent formájukban, a textusok kanonikus sorrendje szerint kerülnek itt közlésre.

Unul dintre rezultatele așteptate ale proiectului este un volum de studii biblice care abordează texte legate de înmormântări, căsătorii și botezuri, oferind o introducere teologică pentru fiecare dintre cele trei teme.
Az kutatás célja, hogy exegetikai anyagot biztosítson a kazuáliákat végző lelkipásztorok számára. A projekt egyik várható eredménye egy olyan igetanulmányos kötet, amely temetési, házasságkötési és keresztelési textusokkal foglalkozik, mindhárom témához teológiai bevezetést kínálva. A temetési rész az ókori halál- és feltámadásképzeteket tárgyalja, a házasság fejezet a bibliai szimbólumait és szokásait elemzi, míg a keresztelés a szövetség és rítustörténet fogalmaira összpontosít.
