Péter levelei múlt századbeli rehabilitációja a szöveg és hagyomány kapcsolatának feltárására is kihatott. A szakirodalom megállapítása szerint nincs az Újszövetségnek még egy olyan levele, amely annyira támaszkodna a hagyományra, mint Péter első levele.1 Ebben a tanulmányban azt vizsgáljuk meg, hogy mit jelent ez a megállapítás az 1Pt 5,8–9 vonatkozásában. Tehát célkitűzésünk az 1Pt-ben ábrázolt ördögkép hagyományanyagának vizsgálata a szövegkörnyezetben elfoglalt helyének és szerepének figyelembevételével.

Apostle Paul and the Scriptures. An overview of current research and the price of progress. Among Dezső Kállay's biblical studies, the letters of the apostle Paul appear with special emphasis. Paul’s interpretation of the Scriptures was deeply rooted in the active Scriptural tradition of his era, not isolated in hermeneutical vacuum. The Scriptures represented not just the written text but also its interpretation, thus the Israelites’ faith was likened to both a solid foundation and spiritual sustenance, as they “drank from the spiritual rock” (1 Cor 10:4).

Jelen tanulmányban a szükségszerűség és esetlegesség fogalmait elemzem. Duns Scotus filozófiai teológiájának kontextusában keresem a kapcsolópontokat a harmadik évezred multikulturalitásával. A kapcsolatiság teológiai megalapozásnak a lehetőségét keresem az isteni akarat és szabadság abszolút végtelenségében egyrészt másrészt az emberi szabadság és akarat kontingenciájának a feszültségében. Ebben a feszültségben Isten kommunikál személyessége és önkinyilatkoztatása révén. Jézus központi szerepe az ember számára nem kontingens az egyház önmagában kontingens.

Works of Protestant reformers in the collections of the Lutheran High School in Mediaș. Since 2018, our research has been conducted in the historical libraries of Transylvania, focusing on the works of fifteen Western European Protestant theologians, known as reformers, who were active in the 16th century. At the Lutheran Gymnasium library in Mediaș, we discovered 58 theological texts by these authors. This number is representative of the average size of the collections we have examined.

Do Christians need to be socialists? Karl Barth and socialism. In this article, the author deals with a “shadow side” of the life and work of Karl Barth. From the perspective of many Eastern and Central European people who have experienced “real” socialism, the right to ask the question posed in the title is evident. It examines under what influences Karl Barth’s inclination towards social democracy and socialism arose. Three circumstances are mentioned: 1. The traditional Swiss solidarity and social sensitivity for the cause of the weak and oppressed.

This chapter examines the formation and development of Unitarian liturgy and worship practices from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries. Despite the absence of a sixteenth- and seventeenth-century order of service, a hypothetical reconstruction of the Unitarian order of service is attempted using the earliest Unitarian hymnal. Using reliable written sources such as published prayer and hymn books and early ecclesiastical regulations, supplemented by synodical resolutions, the challenges of reconstructing a unified Unitarian liturgy are presented.

A szenvedés, az egység és az erkölcsi magatartás témáit érintve arra buzdítja a gyülekezetet, hogy maradjon szilárdan a hitben, és éljen örömteli bizalommal Istenben.

Pavel din Tars a intrat în istoria creștinismului ca apostol al neamurilor. A fost un predicator neobosit și un învățător inspirat al Evangheliei lui Dumnezeu, care și-a îndeplinit misiunea cu cea mai mare fervoare și devotament necondiționat până la sfârșitul vieții sale. Cu povestea sa de viață fascinantă și cu experiența sa considerabilă în plantarea și consolidarea bisericilor creștine, el se află astăzi în fața noastră ca un om demn de atenția fiecărui slujitor.

Habacuc 2:4 este un text de o importanță majoră pentru teologia apostolului Pavel. Avem de-a face însă cu un text extrem de dificil (o constatare valabilă de altfel pentru întreaga carte a profetului Habacuc), iar traducerile – sau mai degrabă parafrazele – din edițiile de Biblie sau comentarii reprezintă doar variații interpretative ale textului ebraic. Acest studiu este dedicat impactului și interpretării lui Habacuc 2:4b, în special a conceptului credinței, pentru literatura teologică din epoca Reformei.

Este o senzație teribilă pentru predicatorii practicanți să constate că metodele testate și ani de zile funcționale par să fie învechite, iar tipurile de predicări care păreau altădată eficiente sunt acum întâmpinate cu priviri plictisite și puterea lor de motivare de odinioară pare să fi dispărut. În astfel de momente, pastorii și specialiștii în omiletică încep să caute idei noi și inovatoare, pentru a putea pre-dica cu succes Cuvântul lui Dumnezeu.

Colecția Blaj a Bibliotecii Filialei Academiei Române din Cluj reprezintă un important vestigiu cultural al greco-catolicismului din Ardeal. Nucleul bibliotecii este format din colecția mănăstirii basilitane ctitorite în 1747 cu hramul Sfintei Treimi. În același an a început activitatea seminarului diecezan. Se pare că cele două instituții au avut o bibliotecă comună. Cărțile au fost inventariate pentru prima dată în 1752.

A relációs etika szerint az emberi lét az interperszonális kapcsolatok által formálódik. Az ideális házasság tartós, bensőséges kapcsolat, amely elősegíti a kölcsönös növekedést. A lelkipásztori rítusok (casualia) fontos szerepet játszanak a családi életciklus váltópontjaiban, különösen a kapcsolati kötelékek elmélyítésében. A mai rohanó, elidegenítő társadalomban a valódi szeretet képessége, valamint a házasság intézménye is gyengül. Az értékek relativizálódása hozzájárul a válságban lévő keresztény házasságok számának növekedéséhez.

A tanulmány a 2Kor 8,7–9 homiletikai exegézisével indul. Az első nagyobb egységben az előkészületi elemek kapnak helyet. A perikópa kortörténeti, exegetikai és teológiai vonatkozásainak feltérképezése során közelebbről érintjük Pál és a korinthusiak viszonyát, a jeruzsálemi gyűjtést, és olyan teológiai motívumokat, mint az inkarnáció és az adakozás. A homiletikai exegézist egy karácsonyi prédikáció vázlata követi. A tanulmány utolsó pontjai az istentisztelet alakításához nyújtanak további szempontokat és szemléltetéseket.

Textele sacre conțin pasaje și revelații care ne poziționează în zona limitelor cunoașterii noastre și ne confruntă cu întrebări inconfortabile. Cât de mult putem înțelege despre acțiunile divine? Când recunoaștem că cunoștințele noastre, hermeneutica noastră meticuloasă, logica noastră bine calibrată și chiar dogmele credinței noastre ating punctul lor final? Un exemplu notabil în acest sens îl reprezintă 1 Petru 3:18–22.

Tanulmányomban a 90. zsoltárban előforduló khiasztikus szerkezeteket vizsgálom meg, és megpróbálok válaszolni arra a kérdésre, hogyan jelentkezik ezeknek a szerkezeteknek a hatása a zsoltár üzenetében.

The textual history of biblical pericopes preserved in more than one version is very complex. Although the stories in Isa 38 and 2 Kgs 20 appear to have originated with some distinctive accents, one can observe a later tendency to harmonise these parallel accounts. Against the background of ancient scribal practices, the current investigation places the wide range of available empirical data regarding Isa 38:8 and 2 Kgs 20:9–11 in a complex network of evidences.

Cu toate acestea, este notabil faptul că în descrierea întemeierii cultului din 1 Împărați 12, zeul venerat nu este numit, ci doar definit prin faptul că el a fost responsabil de exod. Un alt aspect deosebit de important este că acest cult nu era centralizat, ci Ieroboam a ridicat altare pentru această divinitate în întreaga țară, inclusiv, foarte probabil, în capi-tală, Samaria, unde exista un templu pentru această divinitate.

The identity and function of Baal and the baals in Hos is a much-discussed issue in the Hebrew Bible. The lexeme occurs in three chapters (Hos 2; 11; 13) and is probably alluded to in Hos 9:10. But who is this Baal? Is he the storm god, a cipher for any foreign deity venerated in Israel, or a canaanized YHWH figure? Is the usage of the word in any way homogeneous?

Tineretul de astăzi se confruntă cu o criză a identității valorilor, fără a fi vinovat pentru aceasta. Cei responsabili de educația și îndrumarea lor, cum ar fi părinții, dascălii, clericii și îndrumătorii spirituali, și-au pierdut orientarea spirituală, preferând adesea siguranța în locul mântuirii. În societatea actuală, se observă o predominanță a răului explicată prin prisma mentalității evoluționiste susținute de știință. Acest scurt studiu aduce în atenție evoluția predării și practicii muzicale în cadrul colegiului unitarian din Cluj în perioada secolelor XVI–XIX. De la interdicția instrumentelor muzicale și a cântatului indecent la permisiunea treptată a practicii muzicale în incinta colegiului și introducerea predării muzicii, evoluția reflectă schimbările sociale și culturale din acele vremuri.

În acest eseu, îmi propun să conturez doctrina referitoare la întruparea lui Isus Hristos așa cum este reflectată în cele mai semnificative crezuri ale creștinismului. Totuși, pentru a înțelege evoluția acestei doctrine, voi începe prin a prezenta câteva imagini din lumea primelor declarații asemănătoare cu crezul care au apărut în perioada post-biblică.

This study aims to explore if the preaching of the Truth of the Unitarian Church from Transylvania, Romania, under the oppressive times of the Communist regime was ever possible? Relying on personal and historical backgrounds, the article will explore how it was even possible ministering to people when the state was suppressing free speech and was threatening the mere existence of the churches and its clergy.

A Radikális Ortodoxia kortárs teológiai irányzat az angolszász akadémiákon. Legmeghatározóbb alakjának, John Milbanknak egyik programadó írását vizsgálom, melyet ’Posztmodern kritikai augusztinianizmus’ címmel tett közzé. Az írás alcíme: rövid summa negyvenkét válaszban fel nem tett kérdésekre. Az áttekinthetőség kedvéért a szerteágazó három és fél tucatnyi választ négy nagyobb tematikus egységbe tömörítem, a következő beosztással. Az első egységben a teológia új helyzetéről szóló gondolatokat mutatom be (a posztmodern, szubjektum, narratíva, nihilizmus fogalmak mentén).

Rezumând atitudinea terapeuților față de bunăstare, putem constata că această comunitate a ridicat la un nivel atât de înalt valorile spirituale, încât a ignorat absolut tot ce aparține vieții zilnice obișnuite. Ei s-au străduit la înmulțirea bo-găției înțelepciunii (par. 16–17, 20) și a valorilor spirituale. În rândul acestei co-munități meditațiile asupra Sfintelor Scripturi, a cărților sfinte proprii, precum și asupra înțelepciunii dumnezeiești (par. 1, 28–30, 67) sunt absolut primordiale, din care rezultă retragerea din lume și disprețuirea totală a bogăției pământești.
